Some of our coaches will be attending the Sanchez-Casal Competitive Player Development Seminar in California May 2 – 5.  Our goal is to provide you the most current and knowledgeable coaching staff possible.  To do this we must continue our education.  To give you a little in site on the seminar and the knowledge this academy offers please continue reading.

Emilio Sanchez Vicario had a distinguished professional career winning four Grand Slam doubles titles and attaining a world No. 1 doubles and No. 7 singles ranking.  Despite his great on court success he is arguably more esteemed as a coach.  In 2008 he captained the Spanish Davis Cup team to a championship and Rafael Nadal to a gold medal at the Beijing Olympics. In 2009, along with Luis Medeiro, he founded The Sanchez-Casal Academy in Barcelona.  The Academy quickly rose to prominence, developing tour players Andy Murray, Svetlana Kuznetsova, Daniela Hantuchova, Juan Monaco, and Grigor Dimitrov.

The Academy works with both elite and junior players focusing on both intensive training and competitive opportunities.  The coaching course shares the secrets of their very successful Spanish Way:  technical and tactical drills that train player strokes, movement, fitness, and how to use them in point construction.  Participants will both see the coaching skills demonstrated and participate in on court supervised practice to master them.  Additional off court talks will cover the academy philosophy and structure and the habits of good coaches.
