Our coaching philosophy
Our philosophy of “guided discovery” allows young players to develop their tennis skills in a positive, creative environment. Our holistic approach emphasizes the “complete athlete,” incorporating throwing, catching, and kicking skills as well as athletic footwork. We employ a graduated system of appropriate-sized equipment and courts: as students grow and improve, they progress to larger racquets, longer courts, and higher bouncing balls. Students also progress from cooperative drills and games to competitive play, culminating in the opportunity to compete in USTA tournaments attended by our coaching staff.
We believe players learn most quickly by actively practicing skills and working as a team to accomplish goals. Our coaches teach checkpoints for each stroke, promoting proper technique while allowing players the opportunity to use a little creativity. As students drill and play games, coaches remind them of the checkpoints to ensure smooth development.*Age is a generalized guideline for which clinic to join. As children develop and progress at different rates, we sometimes recommend players move into a class level outside of their age group to ensure they are properly challenged. Within each clinic, players are grouped by similar ability levels.
Our weekly youth clinics were developed with your busy schedule in mind. All levels are offered three days a week, ongoing. Parents/players can pick which days they want to attend by registering for individual dates. We sell digital class passes in amounts of 1, 5, 10, and 15 visits.

In Yellow Ball, coaches introduce basic positioning and tactics for both singles and doubles play. Students graduate to playing with higher-bouncing, regulation tennis balls. Further attention is given to proper footwork and stroke production. Cooperative and competitive drills and practice games prepare students for potential USTA tournament play.
Coached Match Play
Coached Match Play sessions are designed for young players who are looking for additional practice match opportunities & advanced players to practice tactics in competition. On-court coaches provide real-time tactical advice and feedback during the matches. Players receive two points for every match played and one point for every game won. The top 8 Players are invited to the quarterly Tournament of Champions.
Our tournament teams are small, specialized groups with plenty of individualized coach attention to help you accomplish your personal tactical, technical, and overall tennis goals. Coaches watch select tournament matches to evaluate player success and mental toughness in match play situations. Throughout this dynamic process of player growth, coaches will work with each player to develop and evolve his or her tailor-made training program.
